I am or was a buiness owner

I am or was a buiness owner, who due to COVID had to make an informed decision to start to close down my hair salon. I went form paying taxes to not having an income. The government told me to stop trading and l did. However, the result of not having an income and being closed for such along time, the company Clear Buisness still issued me with the bills, for a service that l was not able to receive or access. I phoned in December and asked if they could calculate what was outstanding to the current date, in-order for me to end my contract. They did and my Partner paid it in full. Then in the middle of January l started to receive calls stating that l owed money for January. This left me confused because l was told by the company representative that l was paid up to date and my contract was ended. I called and explained but was told and that l need to pay and that they would have to speak to a manager before they could try to resolve the matter. They left me on hold for 40mins and transferred me back to customer service. The representative was understanding and apologetic and informed me that someone would contact me on the Monday. 2 weeks later and l received no call, so l phoned back inorder, to resolve the outstanding issue. I spoke to an Alex. I tried to express and explained my frustration of the situation. His response was that l was shout, which several times l tried to state that l was not. He talked over me leaving me feel overwhelmed and belittled. Stating that service had been supplied, and it was down to me that l could not access them. He compared it to others in the country who have to pay for water services during this time, and was dismissive when l tried to explained that it was not the same, he began to raising his voice to shut me down. He implied that l wanted the service for free and highlighted that any problems l had encountered where due to my non payments. I asked if the conversation was being recorded and repeated his name Alex. Which he started to shout yes it was, stating his name,the date and time. I have lost family members during this pandemic and have been in no state to claim funding or assistance. However, l have tried my hardest to make payments to those who l have occurred debts with. I have lost my business and livelihood. I have managed team members but in all my life l have never been made to feel like dirt, small and belittled as when this person 'Alex' spoke to me or at me should l say at me. He asked me if 'l agreed to pay the £44+ (January payment), and if l did, that the additional £44+ (February payment), then my account would be looked at. This then might, result in me being able to recieve some credit back to my account. This is the same account that l requested them to close in December. I said 'No, l ..' at which point l was talked over by Alex who explained he had 'heard enough from me and had written a paragraph and did not want to hear anything more from me.' At this point l asked to speak to his manager. His response was why and that l should explain to him why??? I want to speak to a manager. When l reminded him that he wanted no further communication with me his response was to put me on hold. I have not included all that Alex said to me but l feel you can see a picture of my treatment, during these emotional, demanding and hard times by this Company representative. I did not start my contract with this company. l started 3+years ago with company called Arora who sold my account to Clear Buisness. I am extremly disappointed by my treatment and hope that this review will help the company to review staff training and help potential customers make an informed decision when looking to purchase their products or services. I will be calling back to make a formal complaint.
