Great Platform - If You Only Use Instagram

Since I began using Later, the platform has improved in many ways. However, I’ve communicated with the customer support team repeatedly because even though Later calls itself a social media platform, it’s really all about Instagram.

It seems like all other platforms were added as an afterthought. Even Later’s blog and most content focuses solely on Instagram. And they realize their shortcomings.

If you look at their Twitter account you’ll see they use Sprout Social to post their own content, which says A LOT. Imagine Sprout Social using someone else’s platform while promoting themselves as a social media planning platform. Just doesn't look good.

Later’s biggest fail is analytics. I managed 5 social media platforms through Later, but there are only analytics for 2. I cannot improve what I cannot measure.

I’ve managed social media accounts for large businesses for many years, before social media managers even existed as a job and I always suggested Sprout for managing. However, independently I cannot justify (aka afford) their price structure for my own venture and I’ve already paid for a full year of Later.

Customer service is always friendly and quick with responses but that doesn’t make up for the fact that I still have to go to several different places to pull together very basic analytics.

If you do NOT have a business, Later is for you. If you only use Instagram, Later is for you. For anything else, consider RecurPost.
