Avoid this company at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs!

They mis-sold my elderly mother business broadband -she doesn’t have a business - costing twice the price of domestic broadband.

They also told her that she could have a mobile phone for free as part of the contract, for which they promptly started charging her a monthly fee.

I had to pay £150 to get her out of the contract and was told by Scott from Unicom that she didn’t owe anything further. That was three months ago. Since they have bombarded her with letters and calls starting she owes them money.

She is in tears regularly because it is causing her so much anxiety. I have phoned them countless times to complain and told them to listen to the call of me paying the fee to cancel everything. But still they harass her. She received another letter yesterday requesting payment.

I am so worried for her that I am on the verge of taking out a court order preventing them for contacting her.

This is a terrible company.

Good morning Mr Chinn,

We are sorry to hear that you have been experiencing issues.
I have reviewed the account and would like to provide further clarification of the issues raised .
With regards to the mobile phone I have listened to the verbal agreement and reviewed the paper contract pack that was sent, and the mobile has been charged at the agreed amount and had not been agreed free of charge.
I have looked into the broadband agreement and I have identified a potential billing issue which I am currently reviewing, however the verbal agreement did state for residential supply and was being supplied accordingly.
I can see further charges have applied for the mobile due to the service being ceased 2/12 after our billing cycle i will also look into this to arrange any due refund.

I have raised the matter on your account and will be in contact in due course to discuss further.

Kind regards,

Ryan
